Mahagathbandhan announces candidates for by-polls for four assembly seats in Bihar

Bihar Secondary Searches: The Mahagathbandhan (grand alliance) in Bihar on Sunday (October 20) announced its candidates for by-elections for four assembly seats in the state. Three of the seats, Ramgarh, Belaganj and Imamganj, will be contested by the RJD, while the CPI(ML) will try to retain Tarari.

The announcement was made at a press conference by state Congress president Akhilesh Prasad Singh, his RJD counterpart Jagadanand Singh and leaders of CPI(ML), CPI and CPI(M).

INDIA bloc fielded RJD candidate Ajit Singh from Ramgarh. He is the son of Jagadanand Singh and brother of Sudhakar Singh, whose election to the Lok Sabha from Jehanabad required a by-poll. From Belaganj, Vishwanath Kumar Singh will make his debut from the seat previously represented by his father Surendra Prasad Yadav, now Jehanabad MP.

In Imamganj, the RJD gave a ticket to Roshan Manjhi, a former Zilla Parishad member in Gaya. The CPI(ML) candidate in Tarari is Raju Yadav.

Bihar Secondary Polls

The four seats up for by-poll are Tarai, Ramgarh, Imamganj and Belaganj. According to the Electoral Commission, voting in these seats will take place on November 13th, while the counting of votes will take place on November 23rd.

In Tarai, the by-election follows the resignation of MLA Sudama Prasad, while in Ramgah, Imamganj and Belaganj, vacancies emerged due to the resignations of MLAs Sudhakar Singh, Jitan Ram Manjhi and Surendra Prasad Yadav, respectively. The Electoral Commission has emphasized the need for a free and fair electoral process in the upcoming elections.
