Human remains found months ago identified as a 49-year-old Portland man

PORTLAND Ore. (KPTV) – After human remains were found in northeast Portland on August 25, police announced Friday that the person had been identified as a 49-year-old Portland man.

The body was found near Northeast Fremont Street and Northeast 105th Avenueand at the time, PPB said they were unsure if the person was male or female due to the condition of the remains.

One man was killed early Friday morning in a scooter crash in southeast Portland, the Portland Police Bureau said.

On Friday, police said the person was Vincent A. Buttafuoco. His cause of death remains under investigation and police say the case is still open.
