Considers Ghanaian Students for Internship – NAPO Appeals to US Companies | Business News

Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh has strongly appealed to business organizations in the United States (US) to provide internship opportunities to Ghanaian students studying in their country.

He said many Ghanaian students are currently pursuing their educational goals at various universities in the US, and they (students) need internship opportunities to develop their talents.

Dr. Prempeh stated that about 150 Ghanaian students are currently studying at the University of Memphis alone, an indication of the high number of Ghanaian students in the US currently.

“We have many Ghanaian students who are currently pursuing their academic goals here in the US, and the University of Memphis alone currently has about 150 Ghanaian students.

“These Ghanaian students need field experience through internships with business organizations here in the US to support their development, so I urge you to provide them with these opportunities.”

Napo, who was addressing members of the Memphis Chamber of Commerce as part of his visit to the US, said Ghanaians, in general, are disciplined and hard-working people.

In this regard, he said that business organizations that would provide internship opportunities to Ghanaian students would never regret taking such actions, saying “Our students work hard”.

Napo also revealed that there are a number of business opportunities in Ghana that US organizations can take advantage of and make a profit, so they should consider investing in Ghana.

He mentioned areas such as Information Technology (IT),
petrochemical, pharmaceutical and food processing, just to name a few, as some of the areas in which US companies can invest.

Napo said that in addition to Ghana being a peaceful country, the NPP government has also created an enabling environment for businesses to flourish, which US investors and businesses should take advantage of.
