Five dead after Dane Co. crash engulfs vehicle in flames

Town of VERONA, Wis. (WMTV) – Five people are dead after the vehicle they were in crashed and set on fire late Friday night, according to the Dane County Sheriff’s Office.

DCSO confirms that the vehicle was going north on Range Trail when it went off the road and hit a tree. The vehicle set on fire and became completely engulfed in flames.

All five people inside were dead, according to DCSO Deputies who got there around 11:12 pm Friday.

DCSO, Verona Police, and Verona Fire and EMS responded to the scene, which is just north of Sunset Drive.

Officials say the identities of the victims will be released at a later date.

DCSO is still investigating what caused the crash.
