Did you know that Carrie Underwood was inspired by Stephen King?

This “All-American Girl” was inspired by one of the Pine Tree State’s most famous people.

In addition to her first name being the title of Stephen King’s first novel, Carrie Underwood was largely inspired by “The king of horror.’

And ironically, her inspiration doesn’t come from “Carrie”, at least as far as we know.

‘Carrie‘ focuses on a shy high school student named Carrie White who discovers she possesses telekinetic powers. Bullied by her classmates and mistreated by her family, Carrie’s powers manifest in destructive ways. As tensions rise, Carrie is pushed to the brink, leading to a tragic And unforgettable prom night where his powers are unleashed with devastating consequences, changing the town of Maine Chamberlain forever.

The novel was released in 1974, with a film adaptation released a few years later. Carrie Underwood was born in 1983and while we haven’t been able to find concrete evidence that the future American Idol winner is specifically named after Stephen King’s character, given the success of the story and era, it wouldn’t be surprising.

However, it’s not the Stephen King story we want to focus on when it comes to Carrie Underwood.

This music video from Underwood’s fourth studio album, “Blown Away”,Two black Cadillacs,’ is heavily inspired by Stephen King’s book ‘Christina.’

‘Christina‘this is a possesses, wrong car. The story follows a high school student who becomes obsessed with restoring the car, which he of course names Christine.
