11 people charged with drug trafficking; 1 wild

SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) – Eleven individuals are now facing multiple drug trafficking charges following the unveiling of an indictment.

The Southern District of Georgia alleges the defendants conspired to distribute large quantities of illegal drugs.

The defendants all face a primary charge of conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute and distribute cocaine, crack cocaine, fentanyl, methamphetamine, oxycodone and marijuana. This charge carries a maximum penalty of life in prison. It also carries significant financial penalties.

According to the indictment, a drug trafficking conspiracy occurred in Bulloch, Chatham and Liberty counties. Multiple law enforcement agencies, coordinated by the Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces (OCDETF), worked to identify key members of the conspiracy. They then conducted searches of homes, vehicles and ‘trap houses’. During those searches, large quantities of drugs were found, along with eleven firearms.

“This drug trafficking investigation required significant coordination among multiple federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies to identify and disrupt the conspiracy,” said U.S. Attorney Steinberg. “We commend the hard work of our law enforcement partners in protecting our community.”

Ten suspects have been charged in the indictment. One suspect is on the run.

Those charged with conspiracy are:

  • William Johnson36, from Hinesville, Ga.;

  • Keannon Wyckoff41, of Statesboro;

  • Thomas Blagmon40, of Hinesville;

  • James Blagmon41, of Allenhurst, Ga.;

  • Eric Collins53, of Statesboro;

  • Christopher Grant36, of Hinesville;

  • Antwuan Byrd39, of Midway, Ga.;

  • Dederik Bryant45, from Ludowici, Georgia;

  • Jacob Robinson48, of Hinesville; And,

  • Irma Wyckoff60, of Hinesville.

You will also be charged Israel Grant, 42, of Claxton, Georgia, is wanted by police. Anyone with information is asked to call the Drug Enforcement Administration’s Savannah Resident Office at 912-210-2944.

In addition to the conspiracy charge, several defendants also face other charges of drug possession and distribution, illegal possession of firearms and maintaining drug-related premises.
