Official video confirms OnePlus 13 design and release date

If you felt like there wasn’t much excitement surrounding the OnePlus 13 earlier this month, that appears to have changed in recent weeks thanks to a plethora of new leaks that essentially attempted to leave no questions unanswered ahead of the phone’s rapidly approaching announcement event.

Hello, beautiful!

Since we’re talking about OnePlus here, today’s teaser video not only confirms the October 31st and 4pm (local) date of the company’s next major announcement, but also the actual design of the device.
That’s right, essentially we will see the unprecedented OnePlus 13 in all its glory today, with a design that’s very reminiscent of last year’s OnePlus 12, but somehow still different enough to give the new phone a strong sense of personality and originality.

The rear cameras, for example, may appear completely unchanged at first glance, but if you look closely you’ll no doubt notice that the way they’re attached to the phone’s frame has been revised… probably for the better. The edges are generally sharper and flatter (which also seems like a positive change) and, perhaps most notably, the back panel’s finish changes from frosted glass to textured glass and… faux leather.

Yes, it looks like some of the latest OnePlus 13 rumors were (at least partially) correct, with its color options including white, black, and a sort of dark blue instead of green. And yes, the latest model appears to follow Motorola’s vegan leather trend of recent years, approaching the material in a slightly more subtle way.

In short, we’re clearly looking at a super Android flagship, practically guaranteed to conquer the world’s biggest smartphone market very soon, with many more markets to follow… sometime in late 2024 or early 2025 .

About OnePlus 13

In case you’re wondering, yes, I believe there’s a chance this bad boy will be on sale in the US, Europe and India by Christmas. This would obviously be an unprecedented and highly unorthodox move by the company, but given that the OnePlus 12 was launched in China in December 2023 and expanded globally the following month, a OnePlus 13 A Western release in late November or early December clearly shouldn’t be ruled out.

After all, it would certainly be a shame to keep the world waiting another two or three months for a super phone that is expected to offer the following super specifications:

  • 6.8-inch AMOLED screen with a resolution of 3168 x 1440 pixels, 120 Hz refresh rate capability and brightness of up to 5,000 nits;
  • Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 or Snapdragon 8 Elite processor;
  • Up to 24 GB of RAM;
  • Storage space up to 1 TB;
  • 6,000mAh battery;
  • Support 100W wired charging;
  • 50W wireless charging technology;
  • 50 + 50 + 50 MP triple rear camera system;
  • 50 MP front camera.
Yes, the OnePlus 13 It will probably cost a little more than the OnePlus 12. But if you ask me, a price hike is guaranteed and totally inevitable considering all the major upgrades OnePlus plans to bring to the table on an already impressive and excellently well-reviewed ultra-high-end smartphone. That crazy battery alone must be worth… a $20 or $30 premium, not to mention the faster processor (whichever of the two the company chooses), the four (!!!) 50 MP cameras and the insanely bright new screen. This is going to be so epic!
