Media and government remain silent on digital identities as thousands protest

Sky News Australia host Sharri Markson says the lack of coverage of the weekend’s protests against digital ID cards “reveals” how little the government and media want Australians to know.

Thousands of Australians gathered this weekend to protest and raise awareness of the perceived dangers of introducing government-mandated online identification methods.

“How telling that there has been no murmuring about this… in any of the media,” Ms Storer said.

“Is this revealing?

“It’s telling that this government doesn’t really want you to know about this bill, they don’t want you to know about their plans for you, the little people.

“And their media comrades have decided that we don’t want to draw attention to these rallies either.”
