Meghan Markle and Harry 'ruined Charles' first year as king with unfair attacks and profited from the royal name,' expert says

MEGHAN Markle and Prince Harry ruined Charles’ first year as king, a royal expert has claimed.

Today marks 12 months since the monarch’s coronation – where the nation paused and then celebrated the new royal coronation.

It’s been a roller coaster year for the firm – from dozens of royal engagements to King Charles and Princess Kate announcing their battle with cancer.

But alongside all this, the royal family has avoided the bombshells thrown by Meghan and Harry.

The Sussexes are now accused of launching unfair attacks on the royal family, while profiting from their ties to the firm.

And it was these factors that, according to royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams, ruined Charles’s first year as king.

He said the Sussexes kicked out of Frogmore Cottage saw them fight back.

Richard told The Sun: “The facts are just on Harry and Megan’s side: after Spare, enough was enough, so he got them kicked out of Frogmore Cottage, and I don’t think they expected that.

“And they certainly didn’t like it.

“But the revelations in Spare, and not just the attacks on the royal family in that book and in the interviews surrounding it, that a lot of people watched, of course, that Harry was responsible for, and those were his memoirs.”

The expert said that even though Spare had been released the previous year, the consequences of that release still had an impact on the king’s reign.

Richard continued: “Spare was so poorly planned it looked like he had no advice, but attacking Queen Camilla was clearly a red line, as the press he spoke to pointed out so hostile.

“So it was important that the king acted as he did.”

Richard also accused Harry and Meghan of “monetizing their ties to the royal family.”

He added: “There is no doubt that the expulsion of the Sussexes from their home in the United Kingdom was a manifestation of immense royal discontent.

“And I think it was absolutely right to do it.

“There is also no doubt that the row with her with Omid Scobie later in the year and all of that was also very, very unnecessary.

“But what the Sussexes aren’t going to get now is monetizing their ties to the royal family.”

He added: “It seems like they’ll be in the news forever and it obviously matters to them how they behave and what they decide to do.”

Harry and Meghan’s betrayals

Interview with Oprah

Harry and Meghan’s explosive chat with Oprah Winfrey saw them make a series of explosive revelations.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex confirmed no topics were “off limits” during the explosive March 2021 conversation.

The interview led to a slew of jaw-dropping remarks, racking up more than 6,000 complaints from British viewers and even prompting a response from the Queen.

This included a claim that two members of the royal family questioned the color of Prince Archie’s skin tone.

Meghan was left speechless after speaking out about her and Kate’s bridesmaid dress after telling Oprah that Kate made her cry before her wedding.

Meg told Oprah it was difficult to see a “story that didn’t happen” surface after it was reported she left Kate in tears over her requests for the dress. Princess Charlotte’s bridesmaid.

Instead, she told chat show Queen: “The opposite happened.”

Spare

There was more to come in Harry’s book, as he recalled an alleged altercation with his brother William that ended with him falling into a dog bowl.

He also revealed how William disapproved of Harry’s marriage to Meghan and once called her “difficult”, “rude” and “abrasive”.

Harry’s father, King Charles, was also in the crosshairs of critics. Harry criticized his father for not hugging him after the death of his mother, Diana, the late Princess of Wales, and claimed the king often made “bad taste” jokes about his paternity.

Kate, who Harry once hailed as the “sister I never had”, and his mother-in-law Camilla were also not spared from the attack.

The Princess of Wales has been accused of being cold towards her sister-in-law Meghan and claimed she was “disgusted” when Meghan asked her to use her lip gloss.

He also partially blamed Kate and William for his decision to wear the controversial Nazi uniform to a fancy dress party in 2005, saying they both “screamed” when they saw it.

Netflix show

Harry and Meghan’s Netflix docuseries dropped bombshells on The Firm – seeing it ripped apart by royal experts.

To the surprise of many, he told stories about Meghan’s “shocking” first meeting with Princess Kate and Harry lashing out at his father.

But, despite the attention it attracted, it didn’t even rank among the top 200 most-watched Netflix shows from January to June of last year.

The document was torn to pieces for giving examples of “truths” that did not seem to hold up to reality.

As the privacy-loving couple complained about their struggles in the final part of their Netflix docuseries, they glossed over some important details.

Additionally, in an apparent criticism of his father King Charles’s parenting, Harry claimed he was “raised” by friends in Africa.

The Sun has contacted the Sussexes and Buckingham Palace for comment.

Richard was speaking as it was revealed that Harry and Charles were about to have another meeting.

The Duke will be at St Paul’s Cathedral for an Invictus Games ceremony and is said to be “very keen” to see his father.

They spoke for 30 minutes in February, days after the king’s cancer diagnosis.

The king, 75, recently allowed to return to public duties while being treated for cancer, is expected to attend the first garden party of the year at Buckingham Palace from 4 p.m.

Both events will conclude around 6 p.m., paving the way for a first meeting since Harry’s whirlwind trip in early February.

A royal source told The Sun: “Harry is normally 5,000 miles away in California, but by a happy coincidence on Wednesday they will only be three miles apart.

“It’s clear he’s looking forward to seeing his father again as he continues his recovery and most people are expecting another reunion next week.”

This possible meeting is unlikely to include Prince William, who has been stung by his brother’s attacks and has not spoken to him since Queen Elizabeth’s funeral.
