Rome man flees police after bicycle traffic stop

Nathan Kendall Whorton, 26, of Rome, was arrested this week after reports he fled from police when they tried to arrest him while riding his bicycle.

Reports indicate that officers stopped Whorton in the village of Shannon when they observed him driving without proper lighting.

Whorton then jumped off his bike and fled on foot.

The incident happened on Burlington Drive, behind the post office.

Whorton is charged with obstructing law enforcement.
