‘Age doesn’t matter’ insists Turkish teenager dating ‘beautiful’ Scottish granny – and her family already loves her

A Turkish teenager has defended his age-gap relationship with a grandmother – insisting age doesn’t matter when you’re in love.

Hotel waiter Sefkan Güzel, 19, met Scottish grandmother Rachel McIntyre while she was enjoying a sunny two-month holiday in Marmaris this summer.

At 35, Rachel is 16 years older than her toyboy lover, who is the same age as her 19-year-old daughter.

Sefkan said he was “shocked” when he found out glam Rachel’s real age, but that the pair are very happy in their relationship.

And she even got the seal of approval from the teenager’s friends and family.

Sefkan told the Daily Mail: “It doesn’t matter how old she is to me, I love her so much and she’s so beautiful, and that’s all I care about.

“I didn’t know she was older until she told me her age. I was shocked.

“We love each other very much and I see a future together. It’s very difficult not to see her every day and have her with me every day, but we always talk.

“All my friends and family really like her and they are all happy for me.”

Praising his “beautiful” young girlfriend, he added: “I liked her as soon as I saw her and now we are very strong together. When we’re together we always have fun and I like that.

But the 19-year-old admitted he “thinks it’s funny” being a stepfather and grandfather at his age.

The teenager worked as a waiter at the hotel where blonde Rachel was staying and she confessed that she saw him “immediately” due to his charming appearance.

At first, upon discovering that Seskan is under 20 years old, the Scottish grandmother “backpedaled”, as her daughter Beth is the same age and made her a grandmother at 24, after giving birth to baby Alaia, in 2023.

Despite trying her best to resist the Turkish waiter, Rachel admitted that his “persistent flirting” ended up winning her over.

“We spent all our free time together and slowly fell in love,” she told Mirror.

The blonde beauty – who has previously confessed to being a swinger – said she was also a little hesitant, as a Turkish waiter she dated in 2023 “was clearly after a visa”.

”But Seskan is different – he is kind, intelligent, gentle, funny and a wonderful lover. He has never asked me for money and usually pays when we go out,” she told the publication.

After the model returned to the UK at the end of the summer, the mixed-age duo only strengthened their bong with regular video calls.

In September, the 35-year-old returned to Turkey with her 11-year-old daughter Erika, who she took out of school – which “doesn’t get fined” in Scotland – for a holiday.

“It’s a controversial situation, but it has made me happier than I could have ever imagined. I know there will be criticism for taking Erika out of school to visit my young lover, but I don’t care,” Rachel said.

According to the grandmother, the duo is already planning a romantic trip to Thailand in December.

Rachel, whose daughter Beth was initially quite skeptical of the couple due to their close age, told young Romeo that she doesn’t want to have any more children.

As reported by the newspaper, the passionate waiter also seems to agree with the decision.

The mother-of-two, from Edinburgh, believes their love will “stand the test of time” – and thinks it helps that she looks younger than she really is, as she and 19-year-old Beth are often confused with twins. .

Rachel, who says she is regularly asked for identification when buying a drink, said last year: “My daughter has just turned 18 (after birth) and I was really shocked when I found out she was pregnant.

“But once I realized it, I started to get excited. I knew I would obviously support her too.

“People can’t believe I’m my daughter’s mother. They look at me in complete shock when I tell them. They’re like, ‘Wait, aren’t you guys sisters?’ When I say I’m also a grandmother, it’s an even bigger shock.”

The content creator said the biggest advantage of being a young nanny is that she is fit enough to do a lot of things with her granddaughter.

Speaking about any criticism, Rachel said that although so far she hasn’t been judged, it “probably will happen” – but she is “not bothered” by what the trolls might have to say.
