Brown announces new investment to improve Southeast Ohio schools and roads

WASHINGTON, DC – Today, U.S. Senator Sherrod Brown (D-OH) announced a new investment to support school districts and municipal services and improve highway infrastructure in Southeast Ohio communities. This Secure Rural Schools program investment will help generate economic opportunity and empower communities in Athens, Delaware, Gallia, Hocking, Jackson, Lawrence, Monroe, Morgan, Noble, Perry, Scioto, Vinton and Washington counties.

“Ohio families depend on quality educational institutions, safe roads and access to municipal services” » said Brown. “This investment in Southeast Ohio will help communities create economic opportunities and improve local schools for area residents.”

The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Forest Service invests in rural communities across the country through the Secure Rural Schools program. These improvements are made possible by the Bipartisan Infrastructure Actwhich Brown helped write and transmit.
