Jason Kelce destroyed the cellphone of a student who made a gay comment about his brother Travis before Saturday’s Penn State game. After the student shouted, “Kelce, how does it feel that your brother wants to date Taylor Swift?” the former Philadelphia Eagle turned around, grabbed the student’s phone and threw it on the ground.

The former football star was in Pennsylvania on Saturday ahead of the Penn State-Ohio State game in State College for his role as an analyst on ESPN’s “College GameDay.”

Video shared on social media shows fans surrounding Kelce as he walks through the crowd. After someone asks for a fist bump, the fan who caught Kelce’s ire shouts the question that contained the slur. Kelce understandably seemed frustrated and angry by the question and use of the intended insult against his brother Travis.

A second video more clearly shows Kelce turning around, grabbing the phone from the fan, slamming it to the ground, then picking it up and walking away.

Fans largely supported the action on social media. Philadelphia sports fanatic Alec Fallon wrote about Like people can just blatantly harass someone’s face and shove a phone in their face and call them nasty for no reason at all, and if they get beat up, aren’t they in the wrong? Absurd.”

Kelce’s “College GameDay” appearance teamed up with Pat McAfee for a killer challenge later in the day wasn’t as successful as the former lineman had hoped. Kelce was given the chance to win $100,000 for hurricane relief if he made a field goal – and after missing the first time, the amount was increased to $200,000. Unfortunately, Kelce also missed the second field goal. He later explained, “I’m bad at kicking, okay?!”
