Community Crossroads organizes an annual silent auction |  Minutes

WINDHAM — Community Crossroads will hold its 18th annual silent auction from 5 to 10 p.m. Thursday at the Castleton Banquet and Conference Center, 58 Enterprise Drive.

Tickets are $50 per person and $60 at the door.

There will be live jazz music and a wine tasting followed by a buffet dinner and dessert.

This event is a fun evening every year and a vital fundraising event.

All proceeds collected go directly to community hubs that serve to address quality of life needs not covered by Medicaid or private insurance to enable them to live more independently.

Donated items can be dropped off at Community Crossroads, 8 Commerce Drive, in Atkinson. If necessary, call 603-893-1299 ext. 21.358 and a member of the event committee will pick up the items.

Atkinson Kids Fishing DerbyATKINSON — The 28th annual Kids Fishing Tournament will be held from 8 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday at City Hall Pond, 19 Academy Ave.

Registration begins at 7:30 a.m.

The derby is open to children aged 12 and under. This event takes place rain or shine.

Prizes will be awarded in different categories. Participants must bring their own poles and worms. No strong bait is permitted.

Garage sale across Plaistow

PLAISTOW — Plaistow Recreation will host its annual citywide spring yard sale from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, rain or shine.

All registered participants will be added to a card that can be printed or picked up at the Plaistow Library, 85 Main St., Thursday. The map will also be shared on Plaistow.com/recreation.

There is a registration fee of $20.00 which will be used to offset the cost of future recreational events for all ages.

Property Tax Relief Program

CONCORD — Eligible New Hampshire homeowners have the opportunity to receive property tax relief through the New Hampshire Department of Tax Administration’s Property Tax Relief for Income Homeowners Program weak and moderate.

The NHDRA distributed more than $900,000 in tax breaks to New Hampshire homeowners last year.

Single homeowners making up to $37,000 per year and married homeowners making up to $47,000 per year can apply for relief from the state no later than June 30. The maximum property value qualifying for an award is $220,000.

Those who own property subject to the state school property tax and who resided in that property as of April 1, 2023 are also eligible.

Apply online at revenue.nh.gov/gtc. Application forms are also available on the NHDRA website at revenue.nh.gov/forms/low-moderate.htm. Applicants must submit their personal income tax return and final 2023 property tax bill with their application.
