Alleged ‘R33P’ tagger arrested after three nights | News

A man accused of tagging “R33P” in a dozen places in Tumon was arrested on Halloween night.

Andrew Edward Gonzalez is facing five misdemeanor graffiti charges after an IHOP employee identified him through security footage.

According to the magistrate’s complaint for the case, security guards first noticed graffiti on the stairs in the garage of the Dusit Beach parking garage in Tumon.

According to the document, it had not been there during a previous check, and upon reviewing security footage they saw a man deface the wall with “R33P” before getting into a vehicle and driving away.

The next day, the tag “R33P” appeared near the ABC store in the Dusit Thani hotel in Tumon. While viewing the footage, a man was seen walking away from the ABC store towards the Sand Castle. An employee at the nearby IHOP identified the man as Gonzalez.

On Halloween, a Guam Visitors Bureau employee called police to report graffiti — the R33P tag — on multiple GTA junction boxes, bus stops and retaining walls in Tumon.

Police found Gonzalez at his workplace and Gonzalez agreed to go to the police station for an interview.

The complaint states that Gonzalez admitted to multiple graffiti events and said the “R33P” tag was his. According to the complaint, he was arrested on Oct. 31 at 4:40 p.m.
