NBA Legend Makes Shocking Claim About Timberwolves vs. Nuggets

The Minnesota Timberwolves shocked the NBA world by decimating the Denver Nuggets in Game 2 without Rudy Gobert available. Many didn’t believe the Timberwolves going into the playoffs, but they’ve all changed their minds now – including Charles Barkley.

After the Timberwolves defeated the Nuggets in Game 2, Charles Barkley blasted Denver on Inside the NBA. In Barkley’s eyes, not only does he believe this series is already over, but he thinks the Nuggets are going to get swept by the Wolves.

“This streak is over,” Barkley said. “Minnesota is better than the Nuggets. With all due respect, they have no advantage. The MVP is dominated, he has no advantage anywhere. Jamal Murray, I think he’s still a little bit injured, but other than that, they don’t have an advantage anywhere. This series is an end… The Minnesota Timberwolves do exist, they will sweep the Denver Nuggets. Period.”

While it’s very rare for a team to overcome a 2-0 home deficit, it’s not impossible. In 2021, the LA Clippers lost 2-0 to the Dallas Mavericks and ultimately beat the Mavericks 4-3 while beating them on the road in every game. It will be difficult for the Nuggets to repeat the same feat, especially with Jamal Murray injured, but it is not impossible.

Friday’s Game 3 between the Denver Nuggets and Minnesota Timberwolves will be a deciding game for the defending champions – something they haven’t experienced in the last two seasons.
