Bengaluru Rain: India’s Silicon Valley is facing persistent rains, which have caused massive flooding. Images of worrying road conditions took over social media, causing internet users to attack the IT center’s infrastructure.

Regarding the situation:

User X shared a video claiming that it shows the poor condition of a road around a high-rise complex. The post claimed that residents in the area are “fed up with the flooding and deplorable roads.” User X also urged “authorities to act”, adding: “We deserve safe roads and adequate drainage.”

The video vividly depicts the struggle of cars, bicycles and commercial vehicles trying to navigate a flooded road.

“Rain turns roads into huge rivers, Bangalore streets become a wild ride,” wrote one user X while sharing a video capturing the condition of the roads after the torrential rain.

What did the meteorological department say?

The Met department has predicted that heavy rains will continue lashing several parts of Karnataka on Tuesday, especially in southern interior and coastal Karnataka. Heavy rains are also forecast in the neighboring states of Kerala and Tamil Nadu.

“Moderate to heavy rain/thunder accompanied by lightning is likely to occur at isolated places in urban Bengaluru and rural Bengaluru districts.” the meteorological office said in a bulletin.

Furthermore, the meteorological department also said that heavy rains are expected in Konkan and Goa, Gujarat, Maharashtra and Andhra Pradesh.

Rain damage in Bengaluru:

Yelahanka, Sahakar Nagar and several other areas in north Bengaluru were lashed by heavy rains on Monday night. In addition to delaying 20 flights, four planes were also diverted to Chennai. According to sources, flight landings at Kempegowda International Airport were normal until 9 pm, but the situation changed later in the evening.
