Dominican senior gets  million in scholarships |  Entertainment/Life

St. Mary’s Dominican High School student Jade Mason was offered $1 million in scholarships.

Scholarship offers come from several Louisiana universities including Xavier, Loyola, University of Holy Cross, Dillard, University of Louisiana at Lafayette, and UNO.

Other universities include Fisk, Averett University, Alabama A&M, Tuskegee, Hardin-Simmons, Florida Institute of Technology, Morgan State, University of Southern Mississippi, Baylor, Spring Hill, Jackson State University, Western New England University, Christian Brothers University and Howard University. .

Additional scholarships were awarded by the Knights of Peter Claver and the Ladies Auxiliary Louisiana State Conference.

Mason, an honor roll student and student ambassador, is a member of the National Art Honor Society, Video Production Club, Cultural and Diversity Club, Yearbook Club, Junior Engineering Technical Society, Intramurals Club and STEM NOLA.

An active member of Corpus Christ Epiphany Roman Catholic Church and the junior division of the Knights of Peter Claver, she attended Louisiana Girls State and served as an Atchafalaya District judge.

Mason is the daughter of Carla and Judge Omar Mason of New Orleans. In 2024, she was named queen of the Young Men Illinois Club.
