Roosevelt basketball star Terrence Hill announces college commitment

The reigning Portland Interscholastic League Player of the Year has announced his college commitment, and it will come with a cross-country trip.

Roosevelt’s Terrence Hill posted on social media Friday afternoon that he had committed to Virginia Commonwealth University.

Hill was one of the best men’s basketball players in Oregon this winter, leading the Roughriders to a 26-3 overall record, the PIL district title and a trip to the state championship game. State. Roosevelt would lose to Central Catholic in the Class 6A title game.

The 2023-24 season was a homecoming for Hill, who spent the 2022-23 season playing for Arizona’s Compass Prep alongside current Oregon Duck Mookie Cook. Hill returned to North Portland for his senior year, immediately propelling the Roughriders to the top of the state.

During his senior year, Hill averaged 21.9 points per game.

Hill had already committed to play at Utah State. He withdrew his commitment to the team when coach Danny Sprinkle left to coach at Washington.
