Former Las Vegas Raiders WR announces retirement from NFL

Former Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver Albert Wilson, who spent time on the team’s practice squad in 2022, which was also his final stop in the NFL, has announced his retirement.

The news comes from Ben Moore of 247Sports. Wilson entered the league as an undrafted free agent out of Georgia State and went on to play in 89 games over seven seasons in the NFL.

Wilson began his career with the Kansas City Chiefs in 2014, who signed him after that year’s draft. He spent four seasons there and his most productive campaign came in 2017, when he finished with a career-high 554 receiving yards.

After four years in Kansas City, Wilson spent the next four years with the Miami Dolphins. During his time in South Beach, Wilson scored a career-high four touchdowns in 2018, along with 391 receiving yards, his best performance in Miami.

Wilson last played a snap in the NFL in 2021, and his last stint with a team was with the Raiders in 2022, although he never played a snap for them. Wilson also had a brief stint with the Minnesota Vikings in 2022.

Wilson had an outstanding final collegiate season at Georgia State, where he tallied 71 receptions for 1,177 receiving yards and eight touchdowns, as well as 24 carries for 251 rushing yards and a score.
