WATCH: Highly Venomous Snakes Found Writing Under Indian Family’s Bed

A family in an Indian village faced a nightmare on Monday night after discovering two venomous snakes writhing around each other. Indian Forest Service (IFS) officer Parveen Kaswan posted the goosebump-inducing viral video showing the snakes twisted and tangled.

He wrote that the family spotted the snakes in the bedroom and sent an SOS call to one of their staff members in the middle of the night. The snakes belonged to the highly venomous Walls Krait species. They fought a battle inside the family home, right under the bed.

“One of our employees received an SOS call last night from a village. Imagine these highly venomous ‘Walls Krait’ locked in a duel inside someone’s room,” Kaswan said on X.

The team rescued the snakes and released them into the wild, he further stated. The name of the village was not mentioned.

Fight or mate?

Meanwhile, several netizens who reacted to the video seem to think that the snakes were not actually engaged in a duel, but were captured in the middle of mating. They thanked the team for safely rescuing the snakes and the family.

“Thank you and your team for your service to these creatures. Males competing for a date, there must be a female nearby,” wrote one.

“Congratulations to the team for rescuing them safely,” one wrote, with another adding “Congratulations to your team.

Several people couldn’t help but identify the similarities with Hindi films based on snakes. “It looks like something from Bollywood Naag and naagin,” one wrote, with another adding, “Like a scene from a Hindi film.”

Known as Bungarus walli, this species of krait is found in northern India, Bangladesh, Nepal and Bhutan. These snakes live in forests and agricultural fields, and can also be seen in rural and urban areas.
