Adilabad: The candidates, who campaigned rigorously until Saturday, relied on quiet campaigning on the last day before Sunday’s elections.

Candidates from all major political parties have made last-ditch efforts to woo voters. For example, they attempted to meet through community organizations and local leaders who could influence voters and improve their prospects.

They also allegedly offered cash to ensure that members of these communities voted in their favor. Some candidates sought to rest in their residences.

They spent time with family members, watched television and engaged in some recreational activities. However, they remained in contact with their supporters and party officials.

“A major party candidate supplied alcohol to his supporters and people in rural areas after learning that he was likely to win in Adilabad Parliament,” party sources said.
