Year 4 pupils compete in a ‘heated’ fire safety poster competition

PARIS, Texas (KXII) – On Wednesday, October 30, the Paris Fire Department presented trophies to 24 fourth-grade students from 8 Lamar County schools who participated in the annual fire safety poster contest.

Every year in October, during Fire Safety Month, prizes for the three best posters are presented at each school and judged by the Paris Fire Department.

Each poster is judged on originality, clarity, neatness and content.

The poster created by Blossom Elementary student Lincoln Oats received the most votes and was named the overall winner. His poster included drawings, attached items such as a real smoke detector, and short reminders such as “Stop, Drop and Roll” and “Plan an Escape Route.”
