Shooting in Chicago’s South Loop today: Bicyclist shot during argument in 1100 block of South Wabash Avenue, police say

CHICAGO (WLS) — A bicyclist was shot Saturday evening during an argument in the South Loop, Chicago police said.

Police said the shooting happened in the 1100 block of South Wabash Avenue just before 6:30 p.m.

A 23-year-old man was cycling when he got into an argument with another person, identified only as male.

The argument turned physical and that’s when the perpetrator pulled out a gun and fired a shot at the cyclist, police said.

The victim was shot in the lower back and was transported to Northwestern Hospital in fair condition.

The suspected shooter fled eastbound on Roosevelt Road on a blue bicycle.

No one is in custody. Area Three detectives are investigating.
