Meet Pooh – Pet of the Week

Meet Pooh – Pet of the Week

Submitted by Animal Protection Society – Friday Harbor

Hi ! My name is Winnie, and as you can see from my photo here, just because I’m small doesn’t mean I’m afraid to take action. After a few quick seconds of assessing the scene, I’m good at following my instincts, leading with pleasure, and jumping into the moment! In my opinion, life is pretty fun, so why wait? Speaking of waiting, I hope this is something I won’t have to do much more of on a future adoption day.

I arrived in Friday Harbor on a private plane, can you even believe it? It’s true! Although most transported dogs and cats arrive at APS-FH by ferry, I was a pup who was lucky enough to travel private, thus benefiting from a shorter travel day. Although travel is often a scary and stressful time for animals, and I’ll be honest, my heart was racing, I managed to have fun by focusing on the view and the fact that it would be soon finished. Thanks to our rockstar volunteer pilot named Roger, we arrived safely at the Friday Harbor Marina and Airport where APS-FH personnel were ready to take us to their shelter. This is where we would expect our future families to find us. I arrived here that day with four adult cats, three Australian puppies, two senior dachshunds and my two brothers. Since my arrival, my brothers Teddy and Benny have already been adopted, and even if I miss them sometimes, I am especially very happy for them. Now I’m ready for that happiness to find me too!

Who will make room for a goofy, fast, spunky ball of love like me to zoom in on their lives and change it for the better? If you think this might be you, then don’t wait another minute before filling out the APS-FH Canine Application and asking me, Winnie! Could this week, my pet of the week, be the one where it finally happens? Where Winnie gets the victory?! Crossed fingers!
