Horrifying moment dog is lifted into the air and almost strangled after his collar gets caught in elevator doors

This is the horrific moment a dog was almost strangled by his own collar after getting stuck in a lift doors and being hoisted into the air.

The little black and white dog was seen entering the elevator of an apartment building in the Chinese city of Shijiazhuang on October 14 when its owner, an elderly man, stopped to pick up some bags.

Finishing his tasks, he went to enter the elevator – but was stopped by the doors before he could enter.

As a result, the frightened dog’s leash and harness were caught. Seconds later, the elevator began to move, leaving the puppy dangling and shaking its limbs in fear.

Fortunately, the harness and leash broke, causing the dog to fall to the ground with little to no damage.

Dogs with collars have been known to get stuck in elevator doors. Last year, a heroic Brazilian boy was hailed for his quick thinking after his little dog’s collar got stuck in an elevator.

The heroic moment was captured on camera as Thiago Magalhães, 11, and Milú were about to leave for their apartment building for a walk in Goânia, Brazil.

Milú can be seen in the video following the boy to the elevator as the leash dragged across the floor.

Magalhães reached out to press the ride button before the elevator doors closed.

The elevator moved within seconds and Milú could be seen being pulled to the ceiling of the elevator.

Frightened, Magalhães grabbed the collar and was dragged along with her.

Somehow, the boy managed to hold on to the collar and prevent Milú from suffocating.

They later fell to the ground when the collar broke. Subsequently, Magalhães requested emergency assistance.

He told Brazilian channel G1 that he went into a state of despair and panic when he saw his best friend hanging from the ceiling of the elevator.

“I don’t know where I got the courage from, I went on impulse,” said Magalhães.

He and Milú were trapped in the elevator and were removed safely and without incident.

“I was very scared by what happened and realized that the situation was very serious and that it could have been fatal for both the dog and my son,” said the boy’s father, Rodrigo Magalhães.
