Azad Samaj Party (Kanshi Ram) MP and Bhim Army chief Chandra Shekhar Azad on Sunday alleged that stones were thrown at a Vande Bharat Express train early this morning, damaging a window in which he was travelling.

Azad stated that the incident took place around 7.12 am after the train passed through Kamalpur station in Bulandshahr district of Uttar Pradesh.

Noting a total incident of 1503 in 2022, resulting in a loss of crores to the railways, he added, “This figure forces one to think why such incidents occur again and again. Stone pelting on trains not only causes damage to property but can also be fatal to passengers.”

He further added that people should understand that railways are a valuable asset of the country and it is the responsibility of all citizens to protect it. “Such acts in society not only create a sense of insecurity but also damage the image of our country,” Azad said.

Azad further requested the Union Railway Minister, Railway Police and the administration to take strict action and spread awareness in the society. “My request is that there is a need for parents and teachers in schools to make children aware of this issue. This will not only reduce the number of such incidents but also ensure the safety of train passengers,” Azad said.

“This country is ours, and the protection of the country’s property is not only the moral responsibility and fundamental constitutional duty of the government, but also of all of us,” he said.
