Fatal single-vehicle crash in Rankin County

RANKIN COUNTY, Miss. (WLBT) – The Rankin County Sheriff’s Department was called to a single-vehicle crash in the Robinhood neighborhood of Brandon on Saturday at approximately 8:30 p.m.

When first responders arrived, they discovered the driver had been partially ejected from the vehicle and was trapped.

According to Rankin County Sheriff’s Department representatives, the driver suffered serious injuries.

Officials called AirCare to prepare to transport the driver to a hospital.

After being removed from the vehicle, CPR was administered, but the driver never regained consciousness.

According to police, they died at the scene.

Current evidence indicates that the driver may not have been wearing a seat belt.

The victim has not yet been identified.
