Reward of up to ,500 for information on fourth murder of 2024

WICHITA FALLS (KFDX/KJTL) — Following Wichita Falls’ fourth apparent murder of 2024, Crime Stoppers has issued a “Fresh 48,” offering an increased reward for anyone with information about the crime.

On May 12, 2024, WFPD officers were dispatched to the 1400 block of New Haven Road to conduct a welfare check on a man.


Upon arrival, officers located Deron Edward Royster, Jr., 31, of Wichita Falls, with a gunshot wound to the left eye. According to Sergeant Charlie Eipper, AMR responded to the scene, but Royster later succumbed to his injuries on May 14, 2024.

The incident is being investigated as a murder.

Now, Wichita Falls Crime Stoppers has announced it is a Fresh 48 case, which offers a $5,000 reward for relevant information leading to an arrest and an additional $500 if the information provided leads to an arrest in the first 48 hours.
