70-year-old man dies in house fire in North Philadelphia

One firefighter was injured, while sources said another person died during overnight fires.

PHILADELPHIA – Philadelphia police say a house fire late Saturday night claimed the life of a 70-year-old man.

Firefighters responded to the fire in the 1600 block of Fontain Street around 10:43 p.m. Less than 30 minutes later the fire was under control.

The man’s body was found in the home. His identity has yet to be released.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
