Anonlychild Fall 2024 Ready-to-Wear Collection

Anonlychild Fall 2024 Ready-to-Wear Collection

AnOnlyChild’s Maxwell Osborne was set to present his fall 2024 collection on the runway at New York Fashion Week last February. The show was initially postponed to a later date, but logistical difficulties got in the way. Instead of a fall show, Osborne is now releasing to the public an edition of his fall collection that he presented to buyers earlier this year. He hopes to present his spring collection on the catwalk in September.

Although Osborne often crafts an overarching story to unify his collections, what really drives his concepts are his materials. AnOnlyChild works on the basis of animal corpses. “If you look through the collection this season, you’ll notice there are a lot of heavier fabrics, which is intentional because that’s what we saw,” Osbrone said. “Then we started focusing on this girl who is hiding the person she wants to be.” Hence the oversized clothing, many of which are fitted and cut from men’s fabrics.

Osborne titled this collection “Pinch Me.” This was translated most literally and successfully in the way he cut a sleeve wide and flattened the top line with a seam line from shoulder to wrist, replicating the design language he established in his anOnlyChild pants, for which he is the best advertisement, given that he often wears them himself.

Another of Osborne’s personal style nuances that made its way into the collection is the way he often wears his hoodies with one sleeve out and draped around his shoulder. “I’m the one who’s not committed,” he laughed. He designed a cool one-sleeve turtleneck that gathers under the sleeve and drapes over the shoulder that he plans to slim down so the sleeve is long enough to be wrapped like a scarf. Other highlights here include the sharp shoulder of his fitted overcoat and a gray stretch viscose double t-shirt with double sleeves and hem. AnOnlyChild is a young brand, but every season Osborne shows he’s a veteran when it comes to creating clothing that’s both accessible and cool.
