Man killed after wreck in DeKalb Co.

HAMMONDVILLE, Ala. (WAF) – A man was killed early Sunday morning after a wreck in DeKalb County, officials said.

According to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA), the wreck happened around 1:20 a.m. on Highway 40 in Hammondville after a man was driving a 2005 Chevrolet Silverado pickup. veered off the road and hit a utility pole and a tree.

Officials said the driver, identified as Joshua Dean, 37, of Rainsville, was not wearing a seat belt during the wreck.

Dean was pronounced dead at the scene.

The incident remains under investigation by ALEA.
