Things to buy on Dhanteras:

It is considered highly auspicious to purchase items made of gold, silver, bronze, brass or copper on Dhanteras. These purchases are believed to bring good luck and prosperity. One should also buy metal utensils as it is believed that Lord Dhanvantari emerged from the churning of the ocean (Samudra Manthan) with a pot of Amrit (nectar). Therefore, buying metal utensils on this day symbolizes prosperity and well-being.
