Pollock man killed in single-vehicle crash

POLLOCK, La. (KNOE) – Louisiana State Police responded to a single-vehicle crash on Louisiana Highway 8 east of Pollock in Grant Parish.

According to LSP, the crash claimed the life of 60-year-old James W. Bennett on November 3 at approximately 6:30 am.

LSP’s investigation revealed that Bennett was driving a 1992 GMC westbound on Highway 8. Bennett’s vehicle left the roadway, traveled down the ditch and struck a tree. It is still unclear what the cause of the accident is.

Louisiana State Police say Bennett was unrestrained, suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene.

Routine toxicology samples were collected and submitted for analysis.

This crash is still under investigation.
