ALDI has unveiled its Christmas advert for the year and Kevin de Wortel is making a grand return.

Aldi‘s advert hits screens on Monday and will run throughout the festive period.

It begins in a festive village with a narrator informing viewers about the spirit of Christmas has been stolen by thieves.

Viewers then see Kevin sleeping on a plate, but he is woken up with a message from Santa Claus tasking him with saving the world. holiday.

The ad is inspired by the Mission Impossible franchise, a classic film many households enjoy themselves during the holidays.

Kevin enlists his wife Katie, who is also a carrot, to carry out the task, using disguises and a “false bottom” case to steal back the mind of the evil Dr. Humbug and her henchmen.

Viewers get a taste of Aldi’s Christmas turkey alongside a range of other foods it has to offer this year as the pair carry out their quest.

The ad ends with the ghost being rescued and the villain being catapulted into the air after a dramatic explosion.

When the spirit, which is animated like a fairy, is freed, they scatter dust on it houses creating a lavish Christmas spread.

Kyrsten Halley, marketing director at Aldi UK, said: “While the ad is packed with light-hearted entertainment that our customers have come to know and love, the message behind the campaign is more serious: we want to ensure everyone has the best Christmas possible.

“That’s why we’re putting a big focus on quality this Christmas and making sure our prices remain unbeatable.”

Aldi often bases itself on this Christmas ads around classic party films.

Last year, viewers saw Kevin visit William Conker’s magical Christmas factory. with a nod to the classic film Willy Wonka and The Chocolate Factory.

The discounter’s Christmas advertisement was in 2022 based on the festive film Home Alone.

It followed character Kevin as he battled burglars after being left alone when the rest of his family went abroad.

The year before, viewers saw football star Marcs Rashford voice the voice of a radish alongside Kevin.

The animated advertisement was a Dickensian version of A Christmas Carol and follows the story of Ebanana Scrooge.

The 2020 ad was based on the classic film Top pistol.

Aldi is not the only retailer participating in the festive campaign.

Sainsbury’s has unveiled its Christmas advert and this one functions the big friendly giant.

In the meantime, Morrisons has brought back its singing oven mitts for the second year in a row.

Aldi’s Christmas range is in stores and contains a range of goodies.

Some of the notable articles including specially selected Wagyu Tomahawk steak, which costs £24.99 per kilo and goes on sale from December 19.

As well as the traditional Specially Selected Slow Cooked Turkey Crown of 1.8 kilos which will be in stores on the same date.

Also on shelves is the new 377g Specially Selected Sweet Caramelised Biscuit and Cinnamon Tear and Share Bread, on sale from December 6 for £2.99.

The store will also be offering a range of special buys in the run-up to the festive season, including a Paddington Bear toy, which will go on sale from November 7.
