One dead in West Sparks shooting; shooter who cooperates with the police

SPARKS, Nev. (KOLO) – One man died Saturday evening after being shot following a fight in west Sparks.

The shooter is working with Sparks police. They have not announced any charges at this time.

Police said they went to an apartment complex in the 1000 block of El Rancho Drive near Teglia’s Paradise Park around 10:33 p.m. after reports of shots fired and people screaming.

Police found a man who had been shot. They provided medical assistance and an ambulance took him to the hospital where he died.

Investigation revealed that the deceased and another man had gotten into an argument. That led to one man shooting. He left the area, but later called police to report what had happened.

“The man involved is cooperating with the investigation,” police said in a statement. “There are no outstanding issues, nor a risk to the community.”

Police have not released the name of the deceased or the shooter.
