Virat Kohli and another RCB legend head to CSK dressing room after no-handshake controversy with MS Dhoni

Virat Kohli and another RCB legend head to CSK dressing room after no-handshake controversy with MS Dhoni

After Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s thrilling victory at the Chinnaswamy Stadium on Saturday, MS Dhoni waited for a handshake from the home team before leaving the field and entering the dressing room. This post-match scene of the IPL 2024 match has finally become the talk of the town. The only member of the RCB team to follow a heartbroken Dhoni afterwards was Virat Kohli. However, Kohli was later followed by another RCB legend.

After being dismissed in the last over, Dhoni was devastated. After his incredible 110 yard six at fine leg, Dhoni was caught off guard by a slower one from Yash Dayal. His behavior in the dugout after the dismissal suggested that he was aware that CSK were going to lose. Dayal controlled his composure and gave away just one more run in the last four deliveries as CSK lost the match by 27 runs.

After the match, Dhoni, showing his true sportsmanship, walked through the ropes and waited to congratulate the RCB players on their victory. However, Dhoni’s gesture went unappreciated as the home team was caught up in their energetic celebration. He then showed respect by shaking hands with RCB support staff members before leaving the playing area.

Later, Kohli was seen looking for Dhoni before meeting him in the CSK dressing room. However, another RCB legend also met Dhoni. Former RCB opener Chris Gayle caught Dhoni and his former teammate Dwayne Bravo.

Later, Gayle posted pictures of her interaction with Bravo and Dhoni on Instagram with the caption: “It was great to catch up with the 2 champions @mahi7781 and @djbravo47 who absolutely love and respect.”

RCB will face Rajasthan Royals in the Eliminator on May 22 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
