A Queens, New York woman has alleged that a road collision on Wednesday, October 16, involving her car and another vehicle captured on dashboard camera video, was staged as part of an insurance scam.

Ashpia Natasha posted footage of the incident on her TikTok, which has since generated 66 million views as of Tuesday, October 22. In the caption, she wrote that she was driving in the left lane of the Belt Parkway heading east toward Southern State Road.

As seen in the clip, a silver Honda in the middle of the road cut into the front of Natasha’s vehicle, causing her to slam on the brakes. The Honda then immediately backed in front of Natasha’s car, crashing it.

“Oh my God!” Natasha could be heard telling her husband on speakerphone, according to dashboard camera video and reported by local affiliate WPIX. “What is he doing?… I had an accident.”

Natasha later wrote in the TikTok caption, “I didn’t hit their car and because of that they backed into my car due to the collision and acted like they were injured when they got out of the vehicle.”

As seen on the dashboard camera, a total of four people exited the Honda appearing shaken by the collision with Natasha’s car. They also appeared to be recording the damage on their phones.

Natasha remembered what happened next Good morning America after the collision: “I just treated it as an accident. You know, I asked if they were okay. We were able to exchange information. The guy in the video told me the woman was the driver and she doesn’t speak any English.”

Natasha told GMA that the Honda riders were in a hurry to leave, saying: “They said, ‘Well, we have to go. We have to go get our baby. And then basically when I turned around to check the car, they just got in the car and drove away.”

She later wrote in her TikTok caption that she believes the incident was a setup to make it look like Natasha crashed the Honda for “insurance fraud purposes.”

“The first three passengers get out of the car pretending to be injured, while the fourth passenger who was driving escapes from the passenger seat and gets into a second vehicle,” Natasha wrote. “That second vehicle… was following me from behind and keeping its distance so they wouldn’t hit me.”

Natasha later wrote on her TikTok that she reported what happened as an accident to the police, but was told that they would not respond if no one was hurt and if the parties involved exchanged information willingly.

“I watched the video several times and that’s when it hit me that, oh my God, this is probably a set-up,” Natasha, whose car sustained $8,000 in damage that will be covered by her insurance, told WPIX. “I am very furious. I didn’t think that was a thing.

In an email to PEOPLE on Oct. 22 about the incident, a New York City Police spokesperson said the investigation “remains ongoing by the Fraudulent Collision Investigation Squad of the New York City Criminal Enterprises Investigation Unit.” NYPD.”

PEOPLE contacted Natasha on Oct. 22 for additional comment.
