In a harrowing recollection of events, a man from Bengaluru recently claimed that he was attacked by a group of goons in the middle of a busy road. The user named Deven Mehta shared videos and photos of the incident and said that the goons not only attacked his car but also threatened him and a woman in his car. “My car was attacked by goons at 7pm on the busy streets of Bangalore as traffic police watched them break glasses, throw stones and threaten us in Kudlu despite a woman being in the car,” he wrote.

According to his (now limited) post, a traffic police officer from Bengaluru was stationed on the road but he did not intervene to stop the attack. Reacting to the post, the social media wing of the Bengaluru City Police sought more details about the area, along with his contact number, to take action. “We have informed the police officers concerned about the necessary action,” he added.

Meanwhile, social media users expressed frustration over the growing crime rate in the city, with some calling out the city police for failing to take appropriate action. One user wrote: “@BlrCityPolice congratulations. The city has gone to the dogs. Your inaction and silence on such matters is deafening. I sincerely hope you do something better than asking the patient for more details.”

Another commented: “It’s becoming very common now, before we rarely saw such news.”

“It is so frightening to see these types of events taking place on the streets of Bengaluru on a regular basis. These criminals know very well that the police cannot hurt them; otherwise they dare not touch/bother anyone. The BLR police are helpless here,” read one comment.

While Deven refrained from sharing his personal details, stating that he felt “safe,” he added that the videos were shared to make people on the streets more vigilant and cautious. Earlier, another video went viral in which a family from Bengaluru was attacked by a motorcyclist, who allegedly injured a child in the car. In the video, a man, reportedly in an intoxicated state, was seen shouting at the couple while violently trying to break the car’s windshield.

The suspect, identified as Naveen Reddy, was later arrested with multiple charges against him.
