Watch Tulsi Gabbard do the inevitable with Donald Trump by her side

Former Democratic Rep. Tulsi Gabbard did on Tuesday what many thought had been a long time coming. (Watch the video below.)

With Donald Trump at her side, she announced she was joining the Republican Party, four years after running for president as a Democrat.

“Because of my love for our country, and especially because of the leadership that President Trump has taken to transform the Republican Party and make it the party of the people and the party of peace again, I am proud.” “Stand here today with you, President Trump, and announce that I am joining the Republican Party,” Gabbard said Tuesday to applause at a pro-Trump rally in North Carolina. The former president looked surprised and then gave a thumbs up in approval.

“I join the party of the people, the party of equality, the party founded to fight and end slavery in this country. “It is the party of common sense and the party led by a president who has the courage and strength to fight for peace,” she continued Tuesday.
