Huntsville church worker accused of sending explicit messages to teen

MADISON CO., Ala. (WAFF) – A former employee of Summit Crossing Community Church is behind bars after being accused of sending inappropriate messages to a teenager.

An investigation into Mark Sellers, 49, began last week following reports alleging he sent “sexually inappropriate and explicit messages to a teenage boy”.

The Executive Director of Ministries at Summit Crossing Community Church released the following statement regarding Sellers’ arrest:

We are deeply saddened by those who were victims of this sinful behavior by one of our employees, and grateful to the family who initially came forward to report it.

Church leaders say Sellers has been fired and is not allowed to return to Church property.

Sellers remains incarcerated in the Madison County Jail, where he is being held on $15,000 bail.
