100 Men Who Care announces June event, calls for nonprofit applications – Los Alamos Reporter

PRESS RELEASE 100 MEN WHO CARE

100 Men Who Care – Los Alamos, a group of men dedicated to providing immediate and meaningful financial support to local organizations, will host its second quarterly post-COVID event from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday, June 13 at the SALA Event Center. .

Organized like a “Shark Tank” for nonprofits, the event lasts just 90 minutes and during that time the group votes for one of three organizations to support based on short presentations from each. Each member of the group then writes a check for $100 directly to the winning organization. Through past events, we have raised over $13,000 for local nonprofits.

The event is inspired (i.e. shamelessly copied) by the successful all-girl group Los Alamos, which has also been rebooted. The two organizations coordinate event dates and eligible nonprofits to apply to “spread the wealth.”

For nonprofits interested in being considered, the application with email submission information is linked. There is no need for nonprofits to reapply if they applied to our first post-Covid event last March; they will automatically be taken into account for the June event.

The 100 Men Who Care – Los Alamos group is open to anyone who would like to participate. Each member commits to contributing $100 once per quarter. Additionally, members can nominate their favorite local charity. Although an RSVP is not required, you can let us know you are participating by emailing [email protected]
