‘American Idol’ Winner Abi Carter Shocked This Finalist Didn’t Win – InspireMore

At 21, Abi Carter always dreamed of winning American idol. Yet even when she became a fan favorite on the show, she had a hard time imagining it would ever happen. Fans will likely find this surprising given how all three judges couldn’t stop raving during her audition. In this document, she delivered a beautiful interpretation of Why was I made by Billie Eilish.

Yet even when Abi made it to the top three, she didn’t think she would actually win. Better yet, she was okay with it, noting that even going this far felt like a victory in her book. This is why, when she was announced the winner of the American idol for her 22nd season, she couldn’t stand up!

“I was expecting them to call (finalist) Will Moseley, that made sense to me,” Abi shares. “So hearing my name called, it really wasn’t a scenario I had thought about in advance.”

Abi Carter still can’t believe she won American idol

As disappointing as this loss is for Will, there are certainly no hard feelings. In fact, it looks like the two of them will remain friends even now that the series is over. After the season finale, Abi shared a cute photo of her and Will having breakfast together.

“Breakfast at the airport after the craziest night of our lives,” Abi wrote. “SEE YOU SOON NEW YORK!! »

As Abi continues to process her unforgettable win, she looks to her future in music — and to the recording contract and the $125,000 that comes with it.

“I think the hardest thing about this career is wanting to please everyone, and I feel like when I’ve written songs in the past, I wanted to do something that I thought would be popular “, she explains. “I think what I want to do in the future is be more in tune with myself artistically and want to use music as therapy rather than my goal being for something to be popular.”
