Ontario parents upset after teen offered plea deal

Inland Empire parents are upset after a plea deal was offered to a teenager accused of plotting to shoot up Ontario Christian high school.

Sebastian Villasenor, 18, pleaded not guilty after allegedly admitting he intended to kill up to six specific students. The San Bernardino County District Attorney offered the teen a plea deal that included no prison time, but rather a few years of felony parole.

“The biggest problem is that there is no guilt, no responsibility for his actions. It’s about getting counseling, promising to get better, seeing each other later, going out the back door, serving time,” one parent told KCAL News. “It’s truly appalling to me and it’s just an abomination of the justice system.”

The prosecutor’s office said it was in contact with the victims’ families and would take their concerns into account.

Villasenor was arrested in February after Ontario Police Service officers determined he had made “viable threats.”

An investigation led them to Villasenor’s home, where police said they discovered several weapons. Police said they recovered seven rifles, two revolvers, a handgun, a shotgun and more than 1,000 rounds of ammunition.

Ontario Police Chief Michael Lorenz said in February that there was no blacklist, but that they were able to determine threats through interviews detailing interactions with other students.

Villasenor is charged with one count of attempted criminal threats and five counts of attempted murder.
