Ready, set…summer in Atlantic City is gone

Ready, set…summer in Atlantic City is gone

Cheers! It’s the start of the summer season.

If your boss lets you out early on Thursday, arrive at the resorts in time to meet the incomparable star of the long-running show Cheers, Mr. Kelsey Grammer.

He will appear as part of the 10th annual Beach Ball Drop at 5 p.m.

A cloud of brightly colored beach balls, of all shapes and sizes, will cascade down on partygoers. Be sure to claim yours.

The promenade in front of the resorts will also be bustling all day with activities and photo opportunities with Grammer, who has played the beloved character Frasier Crane for decades.

The second season of the Frasier reboot just went into production this month.

If you’re heading into town to gamble and not meet any celebrities, start your quest off right by trying to Putt Putt for Slot Cash! And if you win, you’ll be able to buy a few rounds at the Glitter Bar grand opening – Bar One’s theme for this summer.

There will be live music, a DJ and more at this free party on Boardwalk.

Anyone with a military ID can receive free admission to Boogie Nights all weekend at Tropicana. So catch Saturday night fever!

If you haven’t been yet, it’s a huge nightclub with a lit dance floor.

Themed dancers and famous lookalikes are on stage and wander through the crowd to keep the party vibe going. If you’re a fan of the 70s, 80s and 90s, this is your jaw drop!

Another option for dancing the night away is The Balcony at Hard Rock. You have not heard about it ? That’s because it opens this weekend at 10 p.m.

I had the opportunity to have a glimpse of it. I found the staff to be friendly, knowledgeable and welcoming. The DJ even played my wedding song at my wife’s request.

Locals will recognize this space as the former Daer nightclub. Now rebranded to showcase what The Balcony has over other clubs in town: a private outdoor veranda with stunning ocean views.

Located just steps down the escalator from the casino floor, this venue is a private oasis. Upon entering you are greeted by a spacious dance floor surrounded by a large bar. High-quality video screens immerse you in the music.

The cloakroom and toilets are also easily accessible at the entrance. Nor is it possible to dig your way into a dark corner to find it.

However, the piece de resistance and the reason behind this nickname is the spectacular view. A long balcony offers stunning ocean views.

Now you can take a stunning oceanfront selfie anywhere on the coast. But few places offer a nighttime view, atop the boardwalk, with a backdrop of Steel Pier’s monstrous 227-foot-tall, LED-lit observation wheel.

Visit it before everyone discovers this one. For VIP reservations, you can contact [email protected]. Tell the VIP host I sent you.

Hard Rock also has the big name in the game this weekend when it comes to headliners.

Because the Heart Royal Flush Tour is stopping in our seaside town Friday night. There are still tickets available. Just like some Snoop Dogg tickets for June 1st.

Never miss an opportunity to see legends in a small venue.

Hey. You have to eat, don’t you?

Steel Pier Crab House offers a seafood buffet Saturday through Monday. There is lobster, shrimp and crab legs right next to the boardwalk. You can dine inside or outside. Cocktail service is available.

It’s $50 for adults and $30 for children.

Don’t forget to pay tribute to the good Americans we honor this weekend by attending one of two services in Atlantic City.

On Saturday at 10 a.m. there will be a Memorial Day ceremony on Jackson Avenue and the Saracini-O’Neill 9/11 Memorial Parkway in Atlantic City.

Based on my attendance in years past, you can expect speakers, a flag raising, and a commemorative sand sculpture at the beach entrance.

With rain a risk for Monday, it’s a better bet than trying to attend a ceremony on Memorial Day.

Although not necessarily numerous, you will find parking spaces on the street.

Atlantic City’s Memorial Day celebration was moved to the Browns Park City Council Chambers due to rain forecasts.

This year’s keynote speaker is Arthur Freeman, a retired member of the United States Air Force.

Welcome to Atlantic City! These are just a few of the events happening across the city.

However you choose to enjoy your long weekend, BreakingAC hopes you have a safe and wonderful time with friends and family.
