4-star tackle Ziyare Addison, who has a ‘Cuse offer, names the top 9

Ziyare Addison, a four-star offensive tackle from Florida in the 2025 class who was offered by Syracuse Football earlier this year, revealed his nine finalists. Orange was not selected.

According to an article on X by On3 national recruiting expert Hayes Fawcett, Addison’s top nine are Florida, Florida State, Georgia, Michigan, Ohio State, Oregon , Penn State, Stanford and UCLA.

While I’m disappointed that the ‘Cuse is no longer a suitor for the 6-foot-5, 280-pound Addison, I wish Ziyare nothing but success as his recruitment continues.

In late January of this year, Addison stated on his X Page that he received a scholarship offer from the Syracuse football team, led by head coach and star recruiter Fran Brown.

Given that Addison’s offer includes more than 40 major programs, it was likely going to prove difficult for the Orange to prevail in his recruitment.

Addison is a standout athlete who attends Sumner High School in Riverview, Florida. According to his X account, beyond football, he also wrestles and runs track.

All major recruiting services, in the 2025 cycle, rank Addison in the top 300 nationally and in the top 35 at his position.

Currently, his best ranking for the rising high school class comes from 247Sports, which has Addison ranked 140th overall, 14th at offensive tackle and 19th in Florida.

With the ‘Cuse out of the running, so to speak, for Addison, Brown and his assistants have put together a strong 2025 recruiting class so far.

As I wrote this article, the Orange had at least 19 verbal commitments in its 2025 cycle. As of this writing, the industry-generated 247Sports Composite ranked the Syracuse Football 2025 class 11th overall in the country, with the ‘Cuse ranking 6th nationally via Rivals.com.

Additionally, I find it intriguing that the Syracuse football team is hitting a number of different states hard with their recruiting efforts. Yes, the Northeast Corridor – which includes New Jersey, New York, the Washington, DC market and the Philadelphia region – remains a major priority.

At the same time, Orange coaches are seeing success in many other states, including Florida, Texas, Tennessee, Ohio and Georgia.

Speaking of the Sunshine State, in the team’s 2026 cycle, the team has received verbal pledges from a trio of four-star prospects so far. Two of these ‘Cuse verbal pledges in this class are from Florida.
