Erik ten Hag considers leaving Casemiro on the bench for FA Cup final

Saturday’s trip to Wembley could see Erik ten Hag’s final game for Manchester United, but the same could be said of many players.

Under-pressure Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has considered dropping Brazilian veteran Casemiro for Saturday’s FA Cup final against Man City.

I joked on this week’s episode of Strettycast that Casemiro would be ‘left out’ of defense for the FA Cup final against City otherwise our rivals would be licking their lips, but I didn’t expect so that he is excluded from the line. -completely. My co-host Brian Murphy agreed that the former Real Madrid star would likely start in midfield opposite loanee Sofyan Amrabat.

According to The Athletic, United have been preparing in some of their final sessions this week for the match at Wembley with Casemiro out of the starting line-up.

The Athletic have published a report stating that Ten Hag are considering an approach in which Casemiro would not start against City. Adam Crafton, along with Mario Cortegana, add that the line-up will be finalized on match day when it is handed over to match officials at Wembley, but United players were left with the impression that the five-time Champions League winner could miss.

It will be a big blow for Casemiro as it could be his last appearance in a United shirt, and all players will be hoping to start in the FA Cup final.

It’s worth noting that anything can happen between now and kick-off, so there’s still every chance that Casemiro will still feature in the starting XI.

The report adds: “Not all of United’s squad are in favor of an approach that might not include Casemiro, who has started 31 matches in all competitions this season and has been a regular in Ten Hag’s side when available for the selection.”

Casemiro hasn’t performed to the required level this season, but it’s not like Ten Hag has a number of alternative options.

This means Amrabat has a chance to make the starting lineup. This will be his last match before returning to Fiorentina, where he faces an uncertain future.

We will have to wait for Ten Hag to announce their team an hour before kick-off to be sure.
