Cadence Hospital Faces Temporary Cancellation of Registration and Closure Order After Investigation

The Directorate of Rural Medical and Health Services on Friday announced that it was carrying out a “temporary cancellation” of registration and ordering the closure of Cadence Hospital in Kodambakkam on May 23 after an inquiry to probe the allegations which the hospital determined the sex of the fetus. and performing abortions without reason and providing psychiatric treatment without appropriate approval.

In a statement, the director of the Directorate of Rural Medical and Health Services said the decision was taken in accordance with the provisions of the Tamil Nadu Clinical Establishments (Regulation) Act.

According to the press release, following receipt of a complaint, an investigation team was formed. After the investigation on May 2, 2024, it was found that the details of the analyzes were not properly maintained and that the monthly reports were not submitted to the government, as well as the fact that the F forms obtained from pregnant women were not collected and stored properly.
