Crime Stoppers offers reward for murder of Shoreline woman found dead near home

The King County Medical Examiner has ruled the death of BillyJo Kaufman Perkins a homicide due to multiple gunshot wounds.

SHORELINE, Wash. — Crime Stoppers has offered a $1,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of the person who fatally shot a 50-year-old woman in Shoreline.

The King County Medical Examiner’s Office ruled BillyJo Kaufman Perkins’ death a homicide due to multiple gunshot wounds.

Deputies with the King County Sheriff’s Office responded to the area of 22nd Avenue and NE 201st Place after a report of a person at Ballinger Homes, a low-income housing complex, around 10 p.m. on Saturday May 18.

According to a preliminary report, deputies attempted life-saving measures before Perkins was pronounced dead.

“Someone knows who did this,” said Jim Fuda, executive director of Crime Stoppers of Puget Sound. “A 50-year-old woman going out at night, I guess, without a gun, is a gunshot victim. It’s not right.”

Anyone with information can leave tips anonymously by calling 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or online at the Crime Stoppers website.

“Even if you think it’s nothing, it might be helpful to detectives,” Fuda said. “Check your cameras, your ring cameras.”

A uniformed security guard on the property told KING 5 he was asked to increase patrols on the property.
