Actress Sarah Jessica Parker on Wednesday formally endorsed Vice President Harris’ presidential bid, saying she was doing so, in part, “for a certain childless hottie I play on TV.”

Parker invoked her famous “Sex and the City” character Carrie Bradshaw in a Wednesday Instagram post, alluding to Sen. J.D. Vance’s (R-Ohio) now-infamous criticism of women who have pet cats instead of children.

Parker listed more than two dozen reasons why she is voting for the Democratic ticket in the caption of the photo, which showed Parker with her back to the camera, placing a Harris-Walz campaign sign high in her window. On the windowsill, a cat sat facing the camera.

“For the love of my country,” Parker began, before listing other reasons she is making the endorsement.

Parker wrote that his support is for “our public schools,” “books,” “common sense gun laws,” “a minimum wage,” “opportunity,” “women,” “voting rights,” “the Dreamers.” , “arts”. and culture”, “my mother and elderly”, “our military, past and currently serving”, “the climate”, “hope”, “friends and loved ones in the LGBTQ+ community”, “freedom”, “science”, “affordable healthcare”, “our trade unionists”, “democracy”, “my daughters”, “my son”, “all our children”, “equality”, “dignity”, “hope”, “the constitution”, “I ”, “love”, “choice”.

She rounded out her reasons for endorsing the Harris-Walz crossover with a nod to the hit HBO series: “And for a certain childless hottie I play on TV.”

“With great joy, optimism, and pride,” she continued, “I am voting for Vice President Kamala Harris and Governor Tim Walz.”

Parker is just the latest celebrity to publicly support Harris ahead of the election. Immediately after the first presidential debate, Taylor Swift took to social media to give her endorsement of the vice president. She also referenced Vance’s comments in her endorsement, signing off the post by referring to herself as a “childless cat lady.”

Parker supported President Biden in 2020, but in 2022 signaled that she was not ready to support his hypothetical re-election campaign. At the time, Biden indicated that he would run again if he was “in good health.”

Parker, an Ohio native, helped launch the “Moms for Biden” initiative in the Buckeye State during her tenure in 2020. A longtime Democratic supporter, she was also appointed to the President’s Committee on the Arts and Humanities by former President Obama.
